Homemade Hot Chocolate

I love Elvis....


HOMEMADE HOT CHOCOLATE

1 tbsp. cocoa powder
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 c. milk
a bit of vanilla


Combine cocoa, sugar, and water in a small saucepan. Heat it on low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent the paste from sticking to the pan. After about 1 to 2 minutes, add milk and vanilla. Mix it all together until it reaches your preferred temperature.

Top with marshmallows and love! ha! :)

Mom's Buffalo Chicken Dip

I'm really only posting this recipe because my mom said "You better not post any of my recipes!"

Buffalo Chicken Dip

You'll need:
Cream cheese (1 pkg), ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 2 cans of chicken, ½ cup ranch dressing, ½ cup hot sauce (Louisiana, etc)

Preheat over to 350.

In a casserole dish soften cream cheese.
Add ranch and mix together.
Add hot sauce, mix together.
Add mozzarella cheese, mix together.
Add chicken, mix together.
:)

Bake for 10-15 minutes. Just watch it...bake to your liking.

It's amazing!

Nana's German Chocolate Cake

Nana’s German Chocolate Cake

You'll need: 1 boxed German chocolate cake (ha!) 12 oz caramel sauce, 1 can sweetended condensed milk, cool whip, toffee bits, and 1 wooden spoon.

Step 1--Make boxed german chocolate cake just like the box says :)

Step 2--Poke cake with handle of wooden spoon while warm.

Step 3--Pour 12 oz caramel sauce & 1 can sweetened condensed milk over cake, letting it sink into the holes.

Step 4--spread whipped cream over the top & sprinkle toffee bits on top.

Voila!

Mulled Wine

In honor of the Holidays!

Britt's Mulled Wine

You need: a big cooking pot & strainer

Ingredients: 2 bottles of sweet red wine, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, 4 sticks cinnamon, 5 whole coves, 1 orange, & 1 lemon.

Step1

Pour water into pot on stovetop

Step2

Add the sugar, cinnamon and cloves into the water.

Step3

Bring this to a slow boil for 5 minutes and stir. (While boiling slice up oranges and lemons). Remove from heat.

Step4

Add the wine. (any sweet red table wine will work)

Step5

Add in orange and lemon, sliced up.

Step6

Warm this on low heat for 40 minutes (do NOT boil). Strain out the wine and serve!

Lemony Shrimp & Rice

Over the Speakers: Awake My Soul--Mumford & Sons

Lemony Shrimp & Rice


2 cups small-size shrimp 1 cup chopped mushrooms
1/4 cup shopped parsley
1/2 lemon
ground pepper
2 tsp. olive oil
brown rice


In skillet, combine mushrooms, shrimp, and pepper over medium-high heat.

Squeeze lemon over top. Stir. Add olive oil. Stir.
Let simmer & sizzle for 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve over rice, add parsley.


Don't forget the wine.
